Title explores genocide and persecution in Cambodia, including the historical/cultural background of the Cambodian genocide, including the rise of the Khmer Rouge; issues surrounding events such as US involvement in Vietnam and Cambodia and attempts to bring Khmer Rouge perpetrators to justice; and personal narratives from people touched by the events including Cambodian survivors of the genocide and American and British journalists who fled the country as the genocide began.
